Hospitality Team

The team assists at pilgrimages and special events to provide for the needs of our pilgrims and visitors

 

 

 

 

 

 

Altar Servers (Guild of St. Stephen)

Servers are trained to a high standard and this is available in both the ordinary and extraordinary forms of the Mass.

 

Parish Choir

 

Sings each Sunday at the parish 10.30 a.m.  And practices at 9.45 on a Sunday. We sing various Mass settings, the responsorial psalm , motets etc. complementing the liturgy to a high standard.

 

Latin and polyphony choir

 

Small group of parishioners meets in Newcastle Emlyn to study and sing plainchant and polyphony.  The group sings at Latin Masses in the diocese, Welsh Mass and other events .

Flower Arranging

 

Church Cleaning

 

SVP

 

Meets once per month at the church and carries out visiting and charitable works for thos within the community who are in any kind of need.

 

 

 

 

CAFOD Support Group

Carries out fundraising events to support the wider aims of the CAFOD organisation

 

 

 

 

Ethics Group

 

Meets periodically at the church to discuss matters of ethical importance in an informal environment

 

Lectio Divina Group

 

Meets periodically following a set course of study of the scriptures.

 

Adult and Children Catechesis

 

Children’s liturgy is provided during the main 10.30 a.m. Parish mass for pre–communion children. Catechism classes are offered for those who have made their first Holy Communion.  Sacramental preparation Is offered, and instruction is offered for those seeking to come into the Catholic faith. Many of our catechists have taken the Maryvale Certificate in Cathechisis, a two year course of training.

Readers

 

Our team of readers proclaim the readings of the Mass on a rotational basis.

 

Piety Stall

 

A piety stall is offered in the Church Hall after most Sunday Masses and on pilgrimages and special occasions.

 

Shrine Candles

 

A new initiative to make the popular candle devotions of the shrine more  accessible to parishioners, pilgrims and visitors. Shrine candles will be available in the Hall after each Sunday Mass and during pilgrimages.

 

Church Grounds and Gardening

 

 

If you have recently moved into the parish, or would like to become more involved in the parish and Shrine, there are a number of groups and activities that you can join.
