The Society of St Vincent de Paul seeks to tackle poverty in all its forms by offering practical help. A large part of the group’s work is to visit the sick, lonely or imprisoned and to provide food for the homeless. Each person is assisted in a non-judgmental way regardless of faith, culture or background.
In Cardigan, we have an active and friendly SVP group who meet on a regular basis and continue to try to help those who are in need. We visit those who live alone or are in a Nursing Home and simply offer a neighbourly chat. Within the Parish, we organise fundraising events so that people who call at the Church door needing food can receive a hot meal. We are also twinned with a parish in India and support apprenticeship training and education projects.
You are very welcome to find out more about the work of the SVP by contacting Father Jason Jones via the CONTACTS page.
Thank you
